Syllabus

This is a class in appreciating the special wisdom that poems offer. Students prepare for class by reading the selected poems both aloud and silently. Readings are about 12 pages per week and the poets selected, one per week, have all served as Poet Laureate of the United States. The goal of the class is threefold: 1) to give participants skills to bring to any poem they might encounter, 2) to build a lifelong habit of reading poems and 3) finding poets that speak to each of us.

Readings will be emailed weekly and will be posted on the Website.
